This is Part 2 of an intensive practice course in IELTS Speaking that allows those who have done some previous IELTS training to receive extended practice in IELTS Speaking through both self-access example tests and some hours of live Speaking practice with an instructor, with the aim of improving their band score. IELTS Prep Course 1

This is an initial preparation course suitable both for those who have already attempted the IELTS exam and those who wish to try it for the first time.


The structure of the overall exam as well as the structures of the fours sections of the IELTS exam are covered: i.e. the Listening Test; the Reading Test; the Writing Test and the Speaking Test. Both Academic and General Training modules are addressed during the course and students may study either module, or both, as they wish.


Question types and strategies for answering them are outlined as are the preferred formats for all writing types. In addition, practice answering different types of reading and listening questions is available and feedback on writing assignments is provided by an instructor to assist students with improving their performance on IELTS writing responses.


Lastly, one-to-one speaking test practice with an experienced IELTS instructor is provided for students periodically throughout the course.

CELBAN Preparation

The Canadian English Language Benchmarks Assessment for Nursing (CELBAN) is a test of English proficiency used to assess the English level of overseas nursing professionals wishing to qualify to practice in Canada and to assess the English level of graduates from Nursing programs in Canada who originated in countries where English is not the primary language of daily use.


This preparation course is a set of practice material aimed at helping those interested in studying, or qualifying for, the field of nursing, to practice language skills as they are used during a nursing English exam. The course progresses from preliminary material practicing language skills to practice tests for each skill.


This course is a largely self-paced and self-directed, as students work through the material at a speed which is comfortable to them.


However, live online sessions are included in which the student practices Speaking tests with an instructor and receives feedback.


In addition, students write and submit, then receive feedback upon their practice Writing tasks.


Please note, however, that this course is not affiliated with the CELBAN Centre of Touchstone Institute and is intended for the practice of Nursing English skills and Nursing English exam-writing skills, only.
